Santana, Korn, Robert Earl Keen helped make 2019 a summer of music to remember
Robert Earl Keen, Tuesday, Aug. 20: Sometimes, it’s about listening, which is why Keen’s storytelling has made him the soul of the Americana realm.
Keen was a fellow student and friend of the great Lyle Lovett when the two were at Texas A&M University in the 1970s. Now, we Texans love to tell Aggie jokes, but they’re told with love and a little jealousy. Jokes like, “What do you call a pretty girl in the A&M campus? A visitor.” But the more accurate one is this: “What do you call an Aggie five years after graduation? Boss.”
Robert Earl Keen is and always will be “Boss.”
